#17: The sculptures

Next to the palace of her site, there is a restoration unit where they restore old sculptures, marble sculptures, mostly. And I was very intrigued by all these rocks, stone, shapes, which were actually bodies, human bodies. And although it's just cold and dead material, you still see you still feel that they resemble real people of flesh and blood. And I thought that was very interesting, this kind of tension between the dead material and the idea of the living body.

Here you can also see one of the sculptures. It's a kind of a male torso with the bum and the leg. And you can see how it is wrapped around, that's ready for restoration.

This is also one of these sculptures that still had to be renovated.
